Tour Ravenscraig Castle
The
ruined remains of Ravenscraig Castle are located near Kirkcaldy
on the Firth of Forth in Fife, on a rocky outcrop between shingle
beaches. Acquired by Lord Sinclair in 1470, as part of a swap
with James III for the Earldom of Orkney, it remained in Sinclair
possession until 1898, finally passing to the state for care in
1955. Although ruined, many structural elements remain as do many
of the features of 15th-17th century castle life.
